Are you a qualified Finance professional seeking a No.1, hands-on role, working directly with a passionate owner/MD? Can you balance the demands of a broad finance role in a fast-paced SME? Equally comfortable ensuring the integrity of the ledgers and influencing the MD’s commercial decisions using key analysis?

The Challenge

This is a newly-created position in a small, growing business as such you’ll need to have a flexible attitude and the desire to put “your own stamp” on the role.

Responsibilities includes;

  • Assist the MD and wider Operational Team with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

  • Distil and report the key messages on performance against KPIs on a regular basis.

  • Working with the MD on commercial initiatives, including reviews of pricing, margins and product range.

  • Regular review of performance data with the MD to identify improvement opportunities and quantify potential risks.

  • Ensure that financial systems, controls and processes are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.

  • Administer weekly and monthly payroll.

  • Support, develop and provide cover for the Accounts Assistant.
