“The devil’s in the detail.”
“If a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well!”
No, I haven’t been talking with your team. Still, rumour has it that you run a tight ship and truth be known, you wrestle with the daily challenges presented by being a perfectionist and have learnt to develop your team to avoid the need for micro-managing successfully.
This entrepreneurial-led tech company has ambitions to treble in size in the next three years. As it embarks on its next chapter of growth, new strategies have been employed, and are starting to bear fruit and the Head of Finance role will steady the ship, providing the gold-standard in ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting.
So this role will speak to you if you trained in accountancy to become an Accountant.
Sounds obvious, but if you wanted a career in business and accountancy was purely the ticket to get you there, this isn’t your role. This position is all about the numbers – your No. 1 goal is to get the numbers right; you’re a “hands-on fixer” and a “doer” performing a business-critical function and not being afraid to dive into the detail.
Whilst you’ll inherit a strong small team , you’ll put your stamp on the team, not least because you’ll grow your team as the business scales.
(Shh! You may have a protégé you’d love to bring with you; make sure they’re happy working 100% virtually).
You know SAP well enough to recognise the frustrations of using a large company ERP system when you’re a UK subsidiary. However, it’s a decent trade-off to have the security of a large Parent company behind you supporting the businesses growth!
Forget the time and cost wasted each day commuting – those expensive barista coffees and lunches on the run are a thing of the past as this role is remote with most employees spread across the UK.
There will be some travel every month, typically to London to meet the senior team and present the numbers.
In my opinion, this company’s staff are well-remunerated, typically paying up to 20% higher than the market average. This role attracts a salary of c £75,000 – £95,000, plus comprehensive benefits including employer pension contribution, health insurance, 25 days annual leave and the ability to buy/sell an additional 5 days.
This is a truly unique opportunity that stands out in today’s job market. Not every successful senior finance professional aspires to be an FD, but as a strong Head of Finance, you’ll be highly valued.
You may not be actively seeking a new role, so your CV may not be fully updated.
