As a professionally qualified finance leader, are you ready to play a role in feeding the Nation?

You’ll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on this newly-created Head of Finance role and your team. The company wants to remain in the best position to support continued growth and benefit future generations.

Come and work with one of the UK’s most successful growers of fresh, nutritious, premium produce; prepare to be inspired!

This family-run company’s heritage is rooted in the early 1900s. Due to its commitment to innovation and research, it has developed an expertise for growing premium seasonal produce that all the major UK supermarkets clamber over to offer their customers-there’s a high chance you have already consumed their produce.

They have consistently worked to build a strong brand and cultivate impressive customer loyalty, what’s more their staff are as vibrant as their berries!

The role replaces the incumbent Finance Manager, who has served the business well and is retiring after 15 years of service.

You’ll have a keen eye for continuously developing controls, processes, and procedures to ensure a sustainable and robust business that will support future generations.

You’ll form a close working relationship with the Partners and broader Management Team, working together to optimise the value chain from production to distribution, providing tailored management information to aid effective decision-making across the business.

And you’ll assist functional managers with preparing detailed annual budgets and maintaining rolling financial projections.

They have c.50 employees and know a thing or two about attracting and retaining the best staff to meet the business needs as the workforce grows to 1,200 in peak growing season, so your payroll knowledge will come in handy!

It is safe to say that your commercial experience will be relevant to driving the business forward, whether in the thick of it or as a sounding board and team player.

You’ll have experience managing a small finance team requiring you to be “on the tools”.

You’ll probably consider yourself a bit of a whizz about Excel (did you mention Power BI? That would be quite something!) as this food producer is hungry for your analytical mind and commercial input.

You may already understand agriculture and the role of producer organisations in the industry, which is valued; however, you may have developed the relevant skillset in another sector such as manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, food production, Retail or Supply Chain.

What’s on offer:

  • Competitive salary, £70,000 – £90,000 depending on experience;

  • Ability to work hybrid;

  • Offices are located in a beautiful rural location, no city traffic or car parking charges;

  • 25 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays.

Commutable from Abergavenny, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Hereford, Ledbury, Newport, Ross-On-Wye, Stroud, Tewkesbury, and Worcester.

This is a peach of a role.

You may not have been looking for a career move, but recognise opportunities like this don’t grow on trees.
