Management Accountant

Part-time management accountant roles rarely exist; this one is a real gem, based in the beautiful Devonshire countryside.

This is a unique opportunity for a qualified finance professional to work part-time, (equivalent of 3 days pw, minimum of 1 day pw in the office), hours to suit.

Your future employer?

Working with an established family-run country pursuits business near Tiverton, you will report directly to the directors and shareholders of two sporting clubs.

The Challenge

An experienced and confident Management Accountant is required to support the Directors of two sporting clubs.

Business partner with the Directors and ensure they have a good understanding of their respective businesses, providing insightful analysis and knowledge of the financial/operational management information.

Responsible for the timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting for the two sporting clubs; whilst working closely with the transactional accounting team.

  • Production of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.

  • Quarterly Cash flow and forecast reports for the full year.

  • Develop specific reports/analysis for stakeholders where required.

  • Liaise with Clubs external accountants to produce statutory financial statements and tax returns.

  • Build an effective working relationship with the Finance Director, supporting and inputting into the review, and subsequent improvement, of the accounting processes, procedures, and controls.

  • Responsible for the Clubs’ annual budgeting process (including Capex).

What are we looking for in you?

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

  • Excellent attention to detail. Track record of delivery within an SME environment.

  • Strong communication skills, effective at finance business partnering senior stakeholders.

  • Tenacious, comfortable developing effective working relationships with a variety of peers.

  • Proficient in using and optimising accounting systems, with strong MS Excel skills.

  • Independent thinker. Self-starter.

  • £40,000-£45,000 (annualised salary), based on experience.
